Dr Isabella Lam was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Australia where she studied Veterinary Science at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2008. After graduation, Dr Isabella completed a 12 month post-graduate course in Emergency Medicine from the University of Sydney. She also participated in a highly sought-after one year veterinary internship, where she worked with specialists in different fields, including emergency medicine, internal medicine and surgery.
Dr Isabella has always had a passion for emergency medicine; she enjoys the dynamic working environment and relishes the challenges of unusual cases. She has been working as an emergency veterinarian in a dedicated after hours emergency centre in Melbourne since 2009. She finds the most rewarding aspect of her job is being able to see pets she has helped get better and go home to their families.
Dr Isabella is highly qualified in the field of Emergency Medicine, having completed her Memberships in this field with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons, making her one of the highest qualified vets in the field in Hong Kong.
Dr Isabella has made the move back to her hometown of Hong Kong to help raise the profile of emergency veterinary medicine in the city, and now works in the Animal Emergency Centre at East Island Animal Hospital.
With her free time, Dr Isabella enjoys reading, swimming, cycling, jogging, badminton and travelling. Dr Isabella is fluent in Cantonese and English.
